Flutterby Butterfly

Since I took courses in English literature many years ago I have believed this story.

"Many years ago a certain Elizabethian wag decided  to call  the flutterby that flitted past a butterfly. The jest took off and people started calling the flutterbies butterflies. So strange the thought of butter flying that the joke was repeated util now the flutterby sounds strange."

According to the voices of Google this in not true, But what is true? I still think that flutterby sounds more accurate. Even though I listed my new whistle under butterfly. The the pressures that commerce buts on the imagination. If you would like to take a look at these whistle here is the link. BLUE BUTTERFLY WHISTLE

A Murder of Crows

I am trying to write some thing about the fascination the we in East Vancouver have with crows.  I make sculpted crows or ravens to make into jewelry and I wanted a littel write up to go with it. When I went on lilke to do research I  found this video . Over 6000 crows make the trip to Burnaby the next community to East Vancouver so I really don't have to look any further. Working class and on the move is an over generalization but what the heck.

And is you want to be classy, you can think of the black birds in my jewelry as ravens. Ravens are are way more classy. They obtained mythic status because they were thought to be mediators animal between life and death. Now how cool is that.

If you want to see my jewelry on Etsy, follow the links here:

Colour Me 01 - Earhrise Garden

Earthrise Garden - a card to fold and colour plus an eight and half by eleven image.
This is my project for the year. I will publish at least one colouring project a week for the next year. I am still trashing away at polymer clay and I will include polymer clay stuff into the mix.

I plan on blogging about colouring tips and projects and I will be happy to get feed back on anyone happy or unhappy with the little colouring projects that I have provided.

(Yes I know that colour is spelt differently in the USA but this is my little bit of Canadian pride showing through.)

Happy New Years - Fuzzy Logic

When one is busy time flies. Thus I have flown right through the holiday season. I am still flying. I have a new project that I hope to share in February. I need to take a running start.

I have not abandoned polymer clay but I need something that I can do wearing fuzzy sweaters. I find if I do polymer clay when I am wrapped up warm results in little bits of fuzzy appearing in the clay. Especially noticeable when using white. Also I love drawing. So I face the new year with entirely too many projects. Somethings don't change.
